Trace Gas Leak Tester

Trace gas leak detectors measure the presence of a tracer gas, not the change in the gas properties. Therefore changes in Temperature, Pressure or Volume do not effect a trace gas instrument in the same way. The ATEQ Premier T trace gas instrument is able to detect leaks in applications that were previously not possible with ATEQ's extensive air test instrument line.

Tracer gas detection instruments have in past used gases like Helium, Hydrogen, SF6… it is important that the gas used is not common in the manufacturing environment. Helium leak detection systems are extremely expensive while the Hydrogen leak detection instruments are very expensive. The ATEQ Premier T does not need to operate at a hard vacuum and is able to use inexpensive materials for the tooling. This translates into a very economical and capable leak detection system.

Is Trace Gas right for you?

Usually you do not consider a Trace Gas instrument if your product can be tested successfully with an air leak test instrument. These instruments must capture the escaped tracer gas and direct the concentration to the sensor. Ideally you will know where a defect will occur in your product - example: the brazes in a fuel rail.
Pressure Decay Leak Test:
ATEQ's leak test instruments are available for testing in both pressure and vacuum. Available leak test technologies include mass flow, pressure decay, differential pressure decay and ioniq.

Mass Flow Test:
ATEQ's mass flow test instruments are available for testing in both pressure and vacuum. Available mass flow test technologies include mass flow and continuous mass flow.

Trace Gas Leak Test:
ATEQ's Tracer Gas leak detection instruments can be used in both automated or manual test cells to "sniff" for a leak.
